In Pakistan, the 2nd generation of this car was launched in 2019 by KIA Lucky Motors. The hatchback category is the first-ever car launched in Pakistan, with a fully automatic four-speed auto transmission. The company also launched a manual variant of this car in Pakistan with a five-gear. This car has tough competition due to its latest features. However, the main rival of this car in Pakistan is with these mainstream automobiles such as Suzuki Cultus, Wagon R, Swift, and FAW V2. The Kia globally launched the third generation of this vehicle in 2017. Therefore, Kia Lucky Motors have to launch 3rd generation of Kia Picanto in Pakistan in this price bracket.

Exterior:

The front of this car is imposing; it has a tiger-nose grille with a chrome outline and a multi-focus reflector headlamp with DRL (Daytime Running Light). It has body-color electrically adjustable and heated side mirrors. It has body-colored outside door handles. The back look of this car is quite good because of its rear combination light. This car has a rear wiper and micro-type antenna. It is equipped with 14″ steel wheels (optional allow rims). Kia Picanto has local Euro Tycoon tires. The ground clearance of this car is 141 mm, and the height is 1485 mm, the wheelbase is 2400 mm, the weight is 1007 kg, and the turning circle is 9.6 m. Although global, the main competitor of Kia Picanto is the Hyundai i10; it is also a hatchback car.

Interior:

The interior of KIA Picanto is exquisite; it designs like we are sitting in a Sedan car. It has two-tone color interior silver and block, which makes the car looks more premium. This car has electronic power steering, power windows, audio entertainment system and call (LCD is optional), 12 V power outlet, AUX, USB option, analog climate control, and central locking system. It comes with two airbags for driver and passenger. The seat cushioning of this car is very soft and well coming due to its premium fabric material. The only hatchback car has rear three headrests and a light in the glove box. It has a 2.7″ LCD cluster, overhead console lamp, speakers front and rear. In rear seats, it has ISOFIX child seat anchors. The cabin of Kia Picanto is spacious and practical. The back seats of this car are also adjustable when you have more luggage to carry in the vehicle

Engine:

This hatchback car comes with three cylinders 1.0 MPI 998cc engine. Picanto has a refined engine. Due to this, the noise issues of this car are significantly less.

Before buying this car, we have some other options like Suzuki Cultus, Wagon R, Swift, and FAW V2. Our final decision was to buy this car because of its better-built quality, the latest features, and comfortable drive. It feels like driving a sedan car whenever we drive this car because of its comfort and soundless engine noise. The cabin noise of this car is significantly less due to its soundproofing system. As the owner of this car, I have experienced that this car is best for city use. It has a more comfortable drive as compared to its competitors because of its fully automatic transmission. The performance of AC is excellent at 40 C. The mileage in the city is 13-14 km/l and 15-16 on long routes with AC. The fuel average of this car is not so good compared to Suzuki Cultus because the weight of Picanto is more than Cultus due to its built quality. In the two million budget of this car, the company has to give stock LCD with back camera and retractable side mirrors. Unfortunately, these features are missing in the car as we are paying a heavy amount. The performance braking system of this car is very is good because it has ABS (Anti Lock Braking System). The best thing is that KIA gives three years warranty of its parts or up to 100000 km mileage. It provides the customer with more satisfaction and reliability. Our decision was right to buy this hatchback car. Overall we are satisfied with the performance, durability, and driving of Picanto. The top speed of Kia Picanto is 160 KM/H.

 KIA Picanto is available in two variants in Pakistan. The automatic variant current price of Kia Picanto in 2021 is Rs.1 922,000, and the manual variant price is Rs.1 781,000. A few years ago, we could get the sedan car at the same price tag. Still, now the situation is too different from buying a hatchback at a high price. However, compared to other options available in the Pakistani auto market, the car still stands out due to its features, built quality, and design. That’s the reason we decided to go for it. Instead of buying an 8 to 10 years old sedan car, we got a brand new full-featured vehicle.
